2019 French GP champion, Lewis Hamilton Approaches Schumacher's record
Lewis Hamilton completed the Formula 1 eighth race at the 2019 French Grand Prix by touching the first finish after completing 53 rounds. The land jet pilot of the Mercedes team successfully maintained its status as a champion defending at the Paul Ricard Circuit, Le Castellet, Sunday (23/6) night WIB.
Hamilton successfully defeated teammate Valtteri Bottas and Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) in third place. This position is similar to the results in qualifying on Saturday (6/22) yesterday.
Hamilton is getting close to equaling the record of Formula 1 live legend victory, Michael Schumacher. Currently, the British racer has collected 142 first podiums.
Nicole Scherzinger's ex-girlfriend only needed 13 more wins to equal Schumacher's winning record. Thanks to these positive results, Hamilton has collected six wins in eight Formula 1 races this season.
Hamilton won four in a row, namely Spain, Monaco, Canada, and France. "I have been racing for a long time but never got old. I could not do what I did without this amazing team. We made history together. I was very happy," explained Hamilton, after the race.
The first podium achieved by Hamilton made him more comfortable at the top of the Formula 1 standings with 187 points. He was 34 points ahead of teammate Bottas.
