First in the History of WTA, 18 Birth Tournaments 18 New Champions

Map of competition for tennis players in the 2019 WTA tournament is indeed unique. For the first time in the history of the WTA Tour, from 18 tournaments at the beginning of the year, 18 new champions appeared. That is, there is no dominant player this year. Competition is very even. Anyone can be a champion.

In addition to appearing 18 new champions, the 2019 season was also enlivened by the birth of a young tennis player on the podium. Bianca Andreescu, Amanda Anisimova, and Dayana Yastremska who are under 20 years old. Up to 18 tournaments that take place, the average age of champions under 20 years is the lowest since 2006.
