Curry and Thompson Inter-Warriors to Western Conference Finals
Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson managed to deliver the Golden State Warriors to the NBA Western Conference final. Both players scored 60 points to give a 118-113 victory over Houston Rockets.
The match that took place at the Toyota Center, Houston, Saturday (05/11/2019), the Rockets had time to provide resistance. Their efforts could not be separated because the Warriors were not reinforced by a scoring machine, Kevin Durant who was sidelined due to a calf injury.
Luckily, Curry and Thompson could replace Durant's role. Curry scored 33 points. Whereas Thompson donated 27 points from 7 tripoints. Meanwhile, the other numbers were made by Andre Iguodala with 17 points, Kevon Looney 14 points. and Shaun Livingston 11 points.
"Obviously, we only want to win the series, but this is ideal. Maybe this result could give players a weekend off to recover," Warriors coach Steve Kerr commented on the appearance of his foster children as reported by Reuters.
"We will have at least the next few days to get ready and recover. So this is very big for us tonight, especially considering the early minutes of playing this series," Kerr continued.
Furthermore, in the final, the Warriors are still waiting for opponents who are contested by the Portland Trail Blazers and the Denver Nuggets. For Warriors, the success of this season's finals has been the fifth in a row since 2014.
