Collapsed 3 Times, Jordan Gill Loses Belt of WBA Fur Class Champion
Jordan Gill lost the WBA Fur Class international belt after surrendering to Enrique Tinoco in a fight at Nottingham Arena, England. Gill was knocked out three times after being hit by a Mexican challenger before his coach threw a surrender towel in the eighth round.
After the mandatory battle, Gill claimed to have problems with food before competing. He felt food poisoning which made him physically immature when riding the ring. "I don't want to find an excuse with that defeat," Gill told Skysports.
"I have to go back and forth to the toilet all afternoon. I think I'm food poisoning, I don't want to give up that day. "I don't want to stop in the fight," he explained. He admitted that Tinoco was a tough challenger. On the contrary, he did not expect that in the fight he would not be able to bring out his best abilities.
"He's a good boxer, but that's not me at the time. That's terrible, I can't do anything. Every time he touches me, I feel like I'm going to explode, '' he said. "I will be back another day, but at the end of the day, congratulations for him."
In the fight, the two fighters let go of their strongest blows. Gill relied on long jabs and sporadic Tinoco blows from all sides.
Tinoco targeted Gill's body which he showered with his strongest blow. Tinoco punch was able to make Gill fall in the third round. In the fourth round, Gill served close combat. A Tinoco right hook hit Gill's body made him sprawl a second time on the canvas.
The battle was increasingly fierce when both of them fought each other in short distances in the sixth and seventh rounds. Tinoco finally was able to make Gill collapse for the third time in the eighth round before the bell rang. Gill also got the count of referees eight times. When he stood up and returned to the corner of the ring, his coach decided to stop the fight. { SOURCE }
