Winning in Stuttgart, Kvitova Breaks Women's Tennis Record in 2019
Czech Republic tennis player Petra Kvitova broke a new record. He became the first female player to win more than one title this year, precisely after winning the 2019 Stuttgart Open tournament.
Kvitova, 29, won the title in Stuttgart after defeating the Estonian, Anett Kontaviet in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6. This is Kvitova's second title: previously Kvitova won at Sydney International.
After the match, Kvitova said I was very happy to welcome her second title this year. Moreover, the victory over Kontavinet was somewhat brilliant because the opponent sat as the 8th seed.
"It's amazing to see a field full of spectators every day. I've entered the semifinals and fallen a few times, this is a special victory," Kvitova said.
Previously, a surprising victory was also won by the Austrian tennis player Dominic Thiem in a clay surface tournament. Facing Daniil Medvedev (Russia) in the final on Monday (29/4) in Indonesia, Thiem won two straight sets. { SOURCE }
