Juan Estrada Rebut Gelar Kelas Bulu Super WBC
Mexican Juan Francisco Estrada successfully secured the WBC super featherweight title after defeating Thai Srisaket Sor Rungvisai in a 12-round duel at The Forum, Inglewood, California, US, Friday (04/26/2019) evening local time or Saturday (27 / 4/2019) morning WIB.
Estrada built an advantage at the start of the round, then defended to beat Sor Rungvisai with a unanimous decision in front of 5127 spectators who packed The Forum.
This is Estrada's success for revenge after the first meeting against Sor Rungvisai in the same place, February 24, 2018, lost the numbers.
Estrada said he was not 100% for the fight. He claimed a knee injury that did not allow him to sprint during the training camp. Estrada also claimed he suffered a back injury about a month before the match.
However, finally, the 29-year-old boxer was able to overcome his injury and win 115-113, 115-113 and 116-112. The win recorded Estrada's record of 39-3, with 26 knockouts.
"He fought with a conventional attitude from the start, which surprised me," Estrada said after the fight. "He is left-handed, so I only box effectively."
With this victory, Estrada has the option to do a third fight with Sor Rungvisai, or another option in maintaining his title.
Estrada told Boxingscene earlier this week that he was interested in fighting with the WBA titleholder Khalid Yafai.
"If (Sor Rungvisai) wants a third fight, I will give him the chance to fight. But first, I want to unite world title holders with 115 pounds (superfly class)."
Sor Rungvisai, who won the title from Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez in March 2017, fought twice between Estrada's fights, with his latest outing going on October 6, beating boxer Meskiko Iran Diaz in 12 rounds.
Sor Rungvisai's record, which lives in Si Sa Ket, Thailand, was 47-5-1, 41 knockouts. It was Sor Rungvisai's first defeat since losing to a technical decision from Carlos Cuadras in May 2014 or a range of 20 battles. { SOURCE }
