Guardiola's Magical and Third Trophy Tradition
Pep Guardiola has just aligned his position with Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho as coaches who were able to bring his team to the championship trophy in a row. Certainty was known from a good reporter bald-headed coach to bring Manchester City won the Premier League title in the last two seasons.
The latest, Guardiola brought City of the Premier League champions in dramatic after beating Brighton & Hove Albion 4-1 at the Amex Stadium on Sunday (12/5) night WIB. This success is what aligns its name with the two previous phenomenal coaches namely Alex Ferguson and Mourinho.
Statistics say that if Guardiola becomes the third successful coach to deliver the team to win the Premier League champions in a row (2017-2018 and 2018-2019). Previously, Sir Alex Ferguson and Mourinho had earlier recorded the achievement.
Mourinho did that achievement when dealing with Chelsea in the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 seasons. While Sir Alex Ferguson recorded four different periods in maintaining the English League championship trophy.
The first occurred in the 1992-1993 and 1993-1994 seasons. Second, 1995-1996 and 1996-1997. Finally, Ferguson underlined the dominance of United as the strongest club in the Premier League in the 1998-1999 season, 1999-2000, until 2000-2001.
Although Guardiola's career with City was new for corn, the Spanish coach at least managed to stamp the best coach in the Premier League. "To win the title we have to win 14 consecutive matches. So far, this is the hardest title in my career," Guardiola said.
In the next season, Guardiola's career will be very interesting to see. When referring to his achievements in dealing with previous teams namely Barcelona (2008-09, 2009–10, 2010–11) and Bayern Munich (2013–14, 2014–15, 2015–16), Guardiola is known to have always managed to maintain the championship trophy in domestic competition in first three seasons.
Guardiola also hopes the title race will be even harder when his team hunts for the third trophy in a row. "It will be more difficult but we will also be stronger. When you can win twice in a row, I feel that next season we will return and try to be who we are now," concluded Guardiola. { SOURCE }
