Ceres-Negros Comeback, Making Business Opportunities to the Knock Out Phase Almost Run Out

The opportunity for Persija Jakarta to advance to the phase of outing the 2019 AFC Cup was almost exhausted after it was defeated by Ceres-Negros 2-3 on Matchday 4 in Group G at the Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Tuesday (4/23/2019).

Ivan Kolev's side had to admit the sharpness of the counter-attack of Ceres-Negors, the Philippine League champions 2018. Despite winning two goals, the Kemayoran Tigers fell short at the end of the second half so they had to swallow the bitter pill of their second defeat in four group stage matches.

Persija had two goals ahead before equalizing the visitors. Sure Sandi broke the deadlock in the 49th minute after his header from the right side of the penalty box to the bottom right corner could not be driven away by goalkeeper Roland Mueller. Ismed Sofyan gives assists with a cross through a set piece situation.
Tigers Kemayoran doubled the lead through Bruno Matos in the 57th minute. Left foot shot from the middle of the penalty box towards the center of the goal. Matos made use of Novri Setiawan's assist with a header after the set piece situation.

Behind two goals, Ceres-Negros rose. A number of counterattacks often troubles the Kemayoran Tigers. The brilliant appearance of goalkeeper Andritany Ardhiyasa had broken Ceres-Negros' chances.

However, Persija conceded too. Miguel Tanton shortened the 70th-minute distance from a free kick with the right foot to the top right corner.

Bienvenido Maranon made a draw in the 85th minute. Maranon's header from the middle of the penalty box to the upper right corner was unable to drive Andritany. Assisted by Stephan Schrock with a cross.

Mike Ott became the Kemayoran Tigers nightmare after scoring Ceres-Negros' winner in injury time or 90th minute + 3. Ott uses a Schrock cross with a right-footed shot from the center of the box to the bottom left corner.

Persija held in third place in Group G with four points, a 3-1 win over Shan United and a 0-0 draw against Becamex Binh Duong. Ceres-Negros is firmly on top with 12 points.
