Andrea Dovizioso Doesn't Want To Fate Like Valentino Rossi
Andrea Dovizioso did not want to end up like Valentino Rossi. The Ducati rider said he could not imitate Rossi who continued to be on the track until the age of 40.
On the other hand, Rossi's presence since last being the MotoGP champion in the 2009 season, indeed gave competition to other drivers. They competed to beat Rossi from season to season.
This is what according to Dovizioso will destroy the Yamaha racer's mentality. However, despite continuing to fail until the 2018 season, Rossi, who has been a champion of MotoGP seven times, remains the main competitor.
"He changed his mind. Rossi was forced to do it and he was smart," Dovizioso told the media, as quoted by Motosport, Monday (3/22/2019), in a Ducati event in Rome.
"If he continues to approach the race like he did 10 years ago, he will destroy himself," said Dovizioso.
"But he is smart. He realized that he could not approach defeat in the same way again and he adapted. Rossi is 40 years old and sees what he does. In the past two and a half years, he managed to deal with strong people like his Yamaha Maverick Vinales teammate. "
Dovizioso, who was seven years younger than Rossi, said he could not and did not want to be like Rossi. The driver who made his MotoGP debut in 2008 said he would retire if he was in Rossi's position.
"It's not my idea to be in MotoGP at the age of 40. Not because I don't think I can do it, but because it's not my goal." { SOURCE }
